Copyright Issues

Copyright on the course material will be held by Birkbeck College, University of London, with the Founding Companies reserving the right to use all of the course material for their own internal use at any time with no subsequent charge. Copyright on submitted material is to be assigned to Birkbeck College with a Copyright Transfer Form. Material involving the participation of multiple authors are accepted on the condition that all authors have approved the final submitted material and agree to its inclusion in the course; additionally a statement is required from an authorised individual in the sponsoring company that they accept public release and use of the data. The work is not to have been published elsewhere without the prior written agreement of the current copyright holder.

Any technology (in the form of computer software, etc.) or data, not directly part of the course material, developed during the preparation of the course will belong jointly to the Founding Companies and Birkbeck College, and will be available for internal use at Founding Company sites for no further charge. Subsequent commercial development of this work will be subject to separate agreements.

It is anticipated that the course material will be subsequently published in CD-ROM format, copies of this will be made freely available to Founding Companies.
