Anticipated Students

It is anticipated that the students will come from a variety of backgrounds, but in designing the content and style of the course we have had proficient medicinal chemists in mind; although it is likely that anyone with a formal degree-level training in chemistry or a similar life-science will find the course material accessible. We also hope that the course will prove useful to molecular modellers, structural biologists and molecular biologists, wishing to gain a deeper insight into protein structure-based drug design. Admission of registered students to the course will be controlled by the Course Tutor.

As well as regular electronic communication between the students and faculty, we also plan a day long face-to-face meeting once a `term', in London. This opportunity will be used to manage the future direction of the course, and to teach important elements of drug design that are currently impractical to teach over the web. There will additionally be lectures from selected members of the academic advisory panel.
