I have a unary function which implements the worm-like-chain model for polymers. Do people think that such sorts of functions should go in to IMP? I would lean against it as too domain specific.

I see no problem with putting such a function in an IMP module (as per impEM). But I also have no problem with putting it in the IMP kernel in the short term - it's easy to move into a module later if we want to do that.
