Hi,

People did have problemswith MODELLER under Irix6.5 before. They were recomended to get patch 3371 from the SGI's surfzone http://www.sgi.com/SurfZone/

It is an SGI patch number we got from another user. I have not tried this by myself.

hello Ada,

To make sure that it is a memory question, do a test run with a small example ~50 residue protein. If modeller runs with that but crashes with a larger system, than you really have insufficient memory.

normally 100+ Mb, and swap space 200+ Mb is a good average start. Also check if your stacklimit is large enough, type "limit" at the Unix prompt, and if stacksize is not a few 100 Mb or "unlimited" than increase it, check "man limit".

also "SET OUTPUT CONTROL = 1 1 1 1 1 " in your modeller top file, for an extended log report, to see if Modeller gets anywhere at all, before it crashes.
