Hi All,
I encountered a problem using 10 template structures to model a long loop structure. The alignment is very minimal, so maybe I should break it down in smaller parts. Modeller checks the alignment and suggest setting the 'MAXSPL' value to a bigger (?) value. What is this MAXSPL value and how can I set this?
I thought it had something to do with the SPLINE's setting, so I turned SPLINE_ON_SITE off. This resulted in a 'repetition: incomprehensible list input' error. What does this mean? And, most important' how can I prevent this from happening ! :-)

Hi Aldo,
Probably your templates are not very consistent structurally which happens because they are either very different from each other or a wrong alignment is created that tries to close such distances which are apart in the structure. You also should pay attention that the templates used for insertion modeling overlap at least on residue on either side with the rest of the templates. Increasing maxspl would mask the distance differences and avoid the error message, but not solve the inconsistency problem of the templates. Andras
