different results running mod6v2 on diff OS
hi all, i tried to run modeller both on SGI IRIX and windows platform and i got different results for both. is this normal? shouldnt it be producing structures with identical coordinates no matter what OS being used?
thanks all

The coordinates will not be identical, due to differences in rounding and floating point precision on different architectures. This is particularly noticeable during optimizations, where there are usually many local minima; due to small differences in the calculation of the objective function and derivatives, different architectures are likely to choose different minima. It is partly for this reason that you should generate several models and then assess them.
